Half-time presentation for England Powerchair squad.
The FA will be recognising the achievements of the England Powerchair squad when the team are presented to the crowd at the half-time break of this evening’s England v Holland international at Wembley Stadium.
An FA grant of £25,000 helped fund the squad’s trip to the World Cup in France last year where England made it all the way to the final last November before losing out to the USA who retained their title with a 3-0 victory.
The FA’s Head of Disability, Jeff Davis, commented: “It’s fantastic that the Powerchair team are going to be pitchside this evening as their performance at the World Cup was outstanding.
“We actually beat USA 1-0 in the group stage so it was a real shame that we couldn’t replicate that in the actual final.
“The USA are a quality side though with a lot of experience in big tournaments and that’s the standard we’ve got to be aiming for.
“The England Powerchair team have certainly earned their big moment this evening and we hope they have a great time at Wembley.”
