Capello: 'Play to win'

Manager urges his side to go for victory on Friday.

Fabio Capello has told his England side to go out and seek a victory against Montenegro on Friday despite knowing a point would be enough to qualify for Euro 2012.

England require just a draw on Friday to seal qualification for next summer's tournament in Poland and Ukraine, having won all of their matches away from home since last summer's World Cup.

The Three Lions are unbeaten on the road to Euro 2012 but dangerous Montenegro could yet finish top of Group G if results go their way and Capello has urged his side not to lose their concentration, with qualification on the line.

He said: "It will be a big mistake to play for the draw. We need to play for the win.

"The players understand they need to play to the same style they have played away from England.

"I spoke a lot about this to them and they understand. It will be a difficult game - I know the speed of their team and it will be tough.

"But our forwards are really fast and can play in short spaces. I respect the opponents but I am really focused on my team. When I prepare for the games tactically, I study everything. It's important to know their style and every player."

Capello has two key decisions to make ahead of Friday's match - who to partner Wayne Rooney with in attack and who to start at right-back.

Danny Welbeck is in contention for his second England cap while uncapped duo Phil Jones and Kyle Walker are vying for the right-back berth.

"I have a few more days to decide," Capello said. "I shall sleep tonight and then decide on the forward to pair with Rooney and also the right back.

"I need to decide - one of these players (Walker or Jones) - and I am confident in them."
