England captain highlights importance of victory in Almaty.
John Terry says England will have one foot in the World Cup Finals if they can win both their upcoming qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Andorra.
Fabio Capello’s side have a perfect record in Group Six, with their five wins out of five leaving them five points clear of Croatia.
And Terry has targeted victory in Almaty on Saturday and at Wembley on Wednesday, which would leave The Three Lions needing just one more win to ensure their place in South Africa.
"If we can win the game 1-0 I will take that right now," said Terry, who was injured when Kazakhstan were beaten 5-1 at Wembley in October. "The win is the important thing."
He added: "It would put us in a really good position if we win both these games.
"I still think Kazakhstan will be a tough game but if we can get six points we are one win away. That would be a great trip.
"I hope by the end of it we're fit to go into the World Cup then we'll have a great chance."
