Young to start in Amsterdam

Wednesday, 12 August, 2009

Fabio Capello has named his starting eleven for the match against Holland

Ashley Young will earn his first start for England at senior level, and his sixth cap overall, when Fabio Capello's side kick-off against Holland this evening.

The Aston Villa winger made his senior debut in November 2007 in Austria, and also featured from the bench in June's 6-0 victory over Andorra at Wembley.

David Beckham also starts the match, wearing his familiar number seven jersey, while Frank Lampard will partner Gareth Barry in midfield. In goal West Ham keeper Robert Green starts for the third match running.

A minute's silence will be held before kick off in memory of Sir Bobby Robson, who not only managed England but spent two spells as coach of Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven during the 1990s.
