John Terry wants England to book their place in South Africa with a win over Croatia.

John Terry is relishing the chance of leading England out at Wembley on Wednesday night knowing that a win against Croatia will secure the Three Lions' place at next summer's World Cup.

The Chelsea defender says that the players will use the painful Euro 2008 qualifying defeat against Slaven Bilic's men in November 2007 to spur them on towards booking their spot in South Africa.

The England Captain said: "I think its still in the back of each players mind who was involved in that campaign and that night. But as the manager has said, its a new era and a new start for everyone since the manager has come in.

"It's hard for us as players individually and collectively to rule that out from the back of our minds.

"The players have spoken about it. It's a chance to correct things after the bad campaign last time and to really correct things at Wembley."

And the players are confident ahead of the crucial Wembley clash having won every game so far in qualifying, including a 4-1 win against Croatia in Zagreb a year ago.

"To have gone there and put in a very good performance and got a great win over there, it would be nice for our fans and ourselves to finish the job at Wembley, where we threw it away before," said Terry.

"If we can finish the job on Wednesday, it would be an ideal situation."
