Defoe driven by World Cup hurt

Jermain Defoe is using his World Cup disappointment to spur him on.
Jermain Defoe says he is using his World Cup heartbreak from three years ago to drive him on to better things for his country.
The Tottenham forward was on standby for the tournament in Germany, but didn't make the final cut and is desperate to take every chance he gets now.
Defoe admitted: "It was really hard because I actually travelled with the squad to Germany, then I had to go home.
"I suppose it made me stronger but I want to make sure I play this time round."
Defoe also says that he relishes the chance to play with Wayne Rooney, comparing the partnership to that he enjoys at Tottenham with Robbie Keane.
"I have played with Wayne a few times now," he said. "He is a great player who likes to get a lot of touches on the ball.
"In that sense he is similar to Robbie Keane and my partnership with him is great. I don't mind staying behind a main striker, that's for sure."
