Emile Heskey believes Wayne is on top of the world.
Emile Heskey has paid tribute to strike partner Wayne Rooney and says the England forward is one of the best players on the planet.
The Aston Villa striker, who scored his first competitive international goal in seven years in the weekend win over Kazakhstan, is expected to link up with Rooney once again for Wednesday's clash with Andorra.
And with Rooney having scored eight goals in 11 games under Fabio Capello, Heskey says the Manchester United man can fire England to the World Cup Finals in South Africa next year.
"Wayne is a great player and has shown it for both United and England on many occasions," he said. "It's working well and hopefully we can continue to link-up well.
"Wayne is a great player and is up there with the best in the world. He is playing in positions he has never played in and is doing a great job."
Heskey has scored twice in his last two appearances for The Three Lions and is now hoping to add to his tally against Andorra, who currently sit at the bottom of England's qualifying group.
He added: "It was nice to get on the scoresheet but I want to get more now. The whole team is very focused on the game and we want to keep our run going."
