Welbeck flick against Sweden at Euro 2012 voted in top ten England goals

Danny Welbeck's cheeky match-winner against Sweden at Euro 2012 has made it into the top ten of England's best goals.

Late last year we asked fans via our official England Facebook page to choose their favourite Three Lions strikes, and the Manchester United youngster's flick past Andreas Isaksson was voted at no.10.

Having drawn with France in their opening Group D match, England needed maximum points against the Swedes as they aimed for a place in the knockout stages in Poland and Ukraine.

It looked to be going smoothly when Andy Carroll powered home a fine header midway through the first half to put Roy Hodgson's men in front.

But Sweden came out in the second half like a different side. With an hour played they were leading and England were in trouble.

The introduction of Theo Walcott, though, sparked the Three Lions back into life.

First, the Arsenal man crashed in to level matters before his run into the box beyond the Swedish defence carved open the chance for Welbeck.

There was still work to be done, though. With his back to goal, Welbeck's momentum allowed him to spin as the cross from the right arrived at his feet.

A neat flick had Isaksson stranded as the ball rolled into the far corner of the net and sealed the victory for England.

It spurred them on and a win over hosts Ukraine in the final group match set-up a last-16 match-up with Italy.

However, following a 0-0 draw after extra-time, England went out on panalties while Italy reached the Final.

Next week we'll unveil which goal you voted for as no.9 in England's best.
