England forward snatches victory for Arsenal while Rooney also bags in Man Utd win
Theo Walcott transferred his fine Premier League form to The FA Cup on Saturday. The Arsenal forward hit a late winner at Brighton to send his side through to the Fifth Round.
Gus Poyet’s Championship side fought valiantly against their visitors from London and twice pegged them back to level the scores at 2-2.
But Walcott finally settled the matter with an 85th-minute effort, taking his tally to the season up to 17 in all competitions.
Joining the Gunners in the next round are Manchester United, who surged past Fulham with a 4-1 win, thanks in no small part to Walcott’s Three Lions team mate
Wayne Rooney.
The striker, recalled to Sir Alex Ferguson’s starting line-up, was instrumental in the victory, scoring one and setting up another in the Old Trafford rout.
A trio of England stars helped Manchester City to an impressive 1-0 win at Stoke City.
Joleon Lescott was back in Roberto Mancini’s defence while
James Milner and
Gareth Barry both played 90 minutes in midfield.
Jack Rodwell was also a late substitute for the visitors at The Britannia, while Stoke boasted England duo Peter Crouch and Ryan Shawcross in their ranks.
There were another three in action at another away win in Round Four. Everton’s Phil Jagielka, Leon Osman and Leighton Baines were all in action as David Moyes’ side won 2-1 at Bolton. The Trotters' goal came from England Under-21s hitman Marvin Sordell.
Elsewhere, England U20 star Callum McManaman starred for Wigan as they avoided an upset at Macclesfield Town.
The 21-year-old punctuated another promising display by winning the penalty from which the visitors scored the winning goal.
But it was not only The FA Cup that England's stars were in goalscoring form.

Tom Ince added to his growing reputation with both goals in Blackpool’s 2-1 win at Wolves.
