Roy Hodgson has named a 24-man squad to play Brazil at Wembley next week

Roy Hodgson has named his squad to face Brazil next week as England get back into action with their first game of 2013.

The England Manager has selected a 24-man group for Wednesday's match at Wembley, which will be a tough warm-up for next month's World Cup qualifiers in San Marino and Montenegro.

And Hodgson makes no real surprises with his choices, with Everton midfielder Leon Osman retaining his place in the squad following an impressive debut against Sweden last November.

Ashley Cole returns to the squad after missing the game in Stockholm through injury and the Chelsea star is in line to win his 100th cap should he feature against the South Americans.

Manchester United defender Chris Smalling is also back in the squad for the first time in almost a year, with injuries having kept him out since last February's game against the Netherlands.

With Norwich City's John Ruddy and Celtic's Fraser Forster both injured, only two goalkeepers have been selected.

All five of the nominated Men's Senior Player of the Year candidates are in the squad and the whole group will attend Sunday's FA England Awards ceremony at St. George's Park.

The match is the first in a series of Wembley fixtures to celebrate The FA's 150th anniversary year in 2013, with Republic Of Ireland and Scotland to follow in May and August respectively.

Midfielders: Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Leon Osman, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere.
