Two Chelsea players return to Stamford Bridge for treatment

Defender Ryan Bertrand has returned to Chelsea this morning having suffered illness this week, and being unable to take part in any training at all with Roy Hodgson’s squad.

Bertrand had developed a viral infection through the week that led to him being restricted in his training, and it is hoped returning home will allow him to recover in time to be part of the squad that travels to Warsaw.

Frank Lampard has also returned to Chelsea for further treatment, and like Bertrand will be reassessed on Sunday ahead of the World Cup qualifier with Poland on Tuesday evening.
