Jack Wilshere played 90 minutes for Arsenal in a behind-closed-doors game
England midfielder Jack Wilshere played 90 minutes for the first time following his lengthy injury lay-off.
The 20-year-old Arsenal star completed the full game in a behind-closed-doors defeat to Chelsea on Wednesday.
Wilshere had been out of action for 14 months with an ankle injury suffered against New York Red Bulls in July 2011, but he has made three appearances in October; two appearances for Arsenal’s Under-21 side and today’s game at London Colney.
Billy Clifford and Islam Feruz scored the goals as the Blues won 2-0, but Arsenal fans will be more interested in Wilshere’s rehabilitation which appears to be going to plan.
He is in line to play for the Gunners’ Under-21 side against Everton next week and may also have one eye on Arsenal’s League Cup tie against Reading, too.
