Chris Kamara is aiming to spur England on to UEFA EURO 2012 success with his new 'Unbelievable' anthem.
Released on 3 June as the Three Lions prepare for the start of the competition in Poland and Ukraine, Kamara's charity single 'Sing 4 England' aims to provide the fans with a catchy anthem to inspire the team this summer and raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care at the same time.
Kamara, a keen singer himself, has joined forces with Mike Connaris, who wrote the 'Blue Day' anthem for Chelsea FC featuring Suggs from Madness and the songwriters have also had songs featured on five major label football compilations.
All of Kamara's proceeds from the song will be donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care in memory of his mother Irene, who was looked after by the charity's nurses before she passed away.
"I want to get the whole country singing for England, whilst helping raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care, a cause very close to my heart," said Kamara.
"Everyone involved in making 'Sing 4 England' have been brilliant in supporting the charity by donating a percentage of their procceds to them too.
"If the fans get behind the cause, we could inspire England to win their first major trophy since 1966 and that'd be unbelievable!"
FA Group Commercial Director Stuart Turner added: “We are pleased to confirm we are backing Chris’ song as the official England EURO 2012 anthem.
"The FA decided not to commission a song this year but given the public and fans reaction to the “Unbelievable” anthem we are getting behind it. In addition, 100 per cent of Chris' proceeds from the song are going to Marie Curie Cancer Care which is a great cause."
