England's Ashley Cole nominated for UEFA.com's Team Of The Year 2012

England's Ashley Cole has been nominated for the UEFA.com users' Team Of The Year 2012 and voting is now open.

The Chelsea left-back is closing in on his 100th cap for the Three Lions and has been a consistent performer for the Stamford Bridge club, who also won the UEFA Champions League in 2012.

Voting is open for the poll, now in its 12th year, which gives UEFA.com users the chance to pick a team of players from European clubs who have impressed in 2012.

Last year 5m votes were cast and Cole is among a list of 40 nominated players from across Europe for the selection.
  
The poll will run until 1pm on Friday 4 January, before the final line-up is announced on Wednesday 16 January on UEFA.com and in the January edition of Champions, the official UEFA Champions League magazine.

Cole has already been shortlisted for the 2012 FIFPro World XI, along with England team-mates Joe Hart, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney.
