One of England’s most experienced and respected players, Frank captained his country twice as he brought his caps total to 90 in 2011. He is now level with Bryan Robson in seventh place in the all-time list.
He was skipper for the first time as England won the year’s opener in Denmark and scored from the penalty spot in his next two matches
against Wales and
Switzerland.
Back to some of his best form for Chelsea in the new season, he was involved in England’s first four internationals.
He started the matches against Wales and Spain at Wembley and substituted for Gareth Barry and Darren Bent respectively in Bulgaria and Montenegro.
Captaining the side and scoring the winner against the reigning World Champions will be a career highlight.
