Midfielder returns, as England back on the training pitch.
England were back in training on Tuesday morning, as thoughts are now firmly set on Saturday’s World Cup opener with USA.
The Three Lions took part in a training match with South African Premier League outfit Platinum Stars on Monday afternoon, an exercise which yielded a 3-0 victory as well as the experience of playing in the high altitude of northern South Africa.
Whilst there were no injuries picked up during the game, a number of players sat out Tuesday's session such as Shaun Wright-Phillips, James Milner and Ashley Cole but there was a boost for Manager Fabio Capello as Gareth Barry joined the rest of the players in full training.
The Manchester City midfielder will not figure in the game this weekend, but will be targeting the remaining group games with Algeria and Slovenia.Watch FATV’s highlights of training now, by clicking the link to the right.
