Manchester City
A year of transition for Joleon Lescott as he made the switch from Goodison Park to the City of Manchester Stadium to join Mark Hughes at Manchester City in the summer.
Lescott made consecutive England appearances against the same opponents - Andorra - when he started alongside John Terry in the 6-0 win at Wembley.
It was Lescott's first cap since starting the opening World Cup qualifier in Barcelona against Andorra. Lescott's first appearance for England as a Manchester City player came from the bench in the 2-1 victory over Slovenia in September.
With John Terry and Rio Ferdinand both available for the final two World Cup qualifiers, Lescott would have to wait until the final game of the year to win his third cap of 2009.
Starting alongside Matthew Upson in the centre of defence, Lescott put in one of his most assured performances against Brazil.
