The pacy winger has certainly added to his growing reputation in 2009, with some stellar performances for both club and country.
A diminutive and tricky customer, Lennon will be hoping his displays for Tottenham Hotspur will see him named in Fabio Capello’s squad for South Africa and if he does, it will be a second World Cup for him after being part of the squad for Germany 2006.
He has proved to be a thorn in the side for Premier League over the last 12 months and his first involvement of 2009 came in the 4-0 friendly win against Slovakia at Wembley before he featured in the 2-1 World Cup qualifying victory against Ukraine a few days later.
By now, Lennon’s form had really caught the eye and he was in impressive form at Wembley in the Wembley wins over both Slovenia and Croatia as England secured their place in the World Cup.
After building his reputation as one of the Premier League’s best wing men, the former Leeds United star will no doubt be hoping to finish the season strongly and enhance that reputation on the world stage.
