Chelsea midfielder Lampard is confident that Fabio Capello's side can improve on the display in Friday night's goalless draw with Algeria.
Lampard said: "The thing with football is you always have up and down moments. The truth is we are all looking for a win on Wednesday and to really kick on in the competition.
"We are working together. There is nothing we want more than to beat Slovenia and give the fans something to be happy and proud about, and then kick on in the tournament.
"What we have to make sure is that if everyone is not performing at their best, then we perform as a group or as a team.
"The result is a collective thing because we all walk off the pitch whether we win, lose or draw.
"We play in the best league in the world and we have to play with the pace of the Premier League, press teams and be very direct. We didn't play like that the other night."
The team watched a video of the Algeria match on Sunday night and Lampard, who earned is 80th cap in the game, insists the players have now moved on and are looking forward.
"The manager was dealing with the Algeria game in the meeting and we have moved on," he added. "The Algeria game had to be addressed. It was not nice viewing, but we had to look at it.
"The manager just spoke. We watched the Algeria game and the manager addressed it. It has been completely overdone in terms of "crisis meetings" and things like that."
