Nationwide England Player of the Year 2009
TheFA.com is giving you the chance to win a signed England shirt and tickets to see the Three Lions in action at Wembley in the build up to the World Cup in South Africa.

Fabio Capello's England qualified for the World Cup with nine wins out of ten, but now we want to find out who the star performer was during the last 12 months – and as always it is the fans who decide.

Capello used 32 players during 2009, but it's up to you to choose the best. Eleven matches were played, the Three Lions won seven of them and scored 28 goals in the process.

Now it's decision time - who is your Nationwide England Player of the Year? Cast your vote here and you could win tickets to England's first match of the year, at home to Egypt, and the chance to present the trophy to the winner!

If you vote for the eventual winner, you could win a signed England shirt and two tickets to see England against Egypt. Two lucky runners-up will also receive a pair of tickets to the World Cup warm-up on 3 March.

You'll need to be a registered FAN holder to cast your vote, but you can sign up for free by clicking the FAN button at the top of the page.

So get voting, and don't forget you can join the debate by becoming a Fan of England on Facebook.

Former winners of the award include Frank Lampard who won it in 2004 and 2005, Owen Hargreaves earned the prize for his performances in 2006, and Steven Gerrard completed a midfield clean sweep with the award in 2007. Wayne Rooney is the current holder having been voted Player of the Year for 2008.
