Some players have trouble transferring their domestic form onto the international stage but not Croatia’s Davor Suker.

As if netting 38 times in 86 appearances for Real Madrid wasn’t enough, Suker played 69 times for his country, knocked in 45 goals and is his nation’s top scorer of all time.

He really hit his straps at the 1998 World Cup when his six goals helped his country to third place in the tournament and gave Suker the Golden Shoe Award and a berth in the All-Star XI.
