An England match on April Fool's Day is a rarity, so we take a look back.

An England match on April Fools' Day is a rarity. Fabio Capello's team take on Ukraine in a FIFA World Cup qualifier on Wednesday, 1 April, and it's only the second time in 76 years that we have played on the day prized by jokers and pranksters. On the last occasion, in 1987, Bobby Robson's England beat Northern Ireland 2-0 in a European Championship qualifier in Belfast. Bryan Robson and Chris Waddle scored the goals in front of a 23,000 crowd at Windsor Park and Terry Butcher picked up his 50th cap.
There have been five England internationals altogether on 1 April and the other four were all against Scotland a long time ago.
This is how those matches went...
1933:
Scotland 2-1 England in GlasgowA colossal attendance of 134,170 at Hampden Park saw Tottenham's George Hunt score for England
1911:
England 1-1 Scotland at EvertonJimmy 'Tadger' Stewart of Newcastle gave England the lead before 38,000 fans at Goodison Park
1905:
England 1-0 Scotland at Crystal PalaceAston Villa inside-left Joe Bache netted the winner with ten minutes to go, watched by 32,000
1893:
England 5-2 Scotland at RichmondA 16,000 crowd saw Fred Spiksley, Sheffield Wednesday's outside-left, score twice in the last 15 minutes
