Steven Gerrard has admitted he'll have one eye on next month's clash in Turkey if he lines up for England against Liechtenstein on Wednesday night...

Gerrard, who is unbeaten in an England shirt, is expected to go straight back into Sven-Goran Eriksson's side for the Group 7 clash at Old Trafford, but he is well aware that a yellow card against Liechtenstein would rule him out of the potential decider in Istanbul next month.

"I have got to be very careful if I am selected on Wednesday night. I will have to approach the game different to usual," the Liverpool dynamo said.

"I'm not sure if the manager is definitely going to play me. If I am selected I will decide how I am going to play - but I won't be making any silly challenges."

Meanwhile, Sven has sent national coach Nigel Pearson to scout the Republic of Ireland v Turkey friendly match in Dublin tomorrow night . Pearson is a former Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough skipper and will no doubt pick up some useful information for Sven ahead of England's crucial match in Istanbul next month.
