England coach Sven Goran Eriksson will name his squad via TheFA.com on Saturday evening and young Chelsea starlet Glen Johnson is hoping me might be among the party...
The full back has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last year, culminating in his £6m move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
At international level, he has only just broken into David Platt's Under-21 side but, having played well in front of Tord Grip in Chelsea's Champions League opener on Wednesday, Johnson does not believe that the Senior squad is beyond him.
Johnson declared: "If I was picked in the England squad, I'd be more than pleased. But it hasn't happened yet, so I just have to keep on working hard.
"I'd like to think that Tord Grip was impressed with me and it would be nice if all the English players here were picked together in the squad but we will have to wait and see.
"My first priority is getting into the Chelsea side and I'm just pleased to have been picked to play in the Champions League for the first time.
"It was exciting and I enjoyed every minute of it. All the players make it easy for you to settle in but it's nice to have a few English lads around the club."
TheFA.com will bring you Sven's squad to face Croatia on Saturday night...
