England coach Sven Goran Eriksson believes that England's team spirit and unity

England coach Sven Goran Eriksson believes that England's team spirit and unity will be key when he takes his side to Turkey for October's crucial Euro 2004 qualifier in Istanbul...

Last weekend Sven travelled home to his native Sweden for a day in the middle of the Amsterdam Tournament, From there, he said: "Turkey will be a tough game for everybody. But, in particular, we must be very disciplined in defence and play as a team.

"This is very important if we are to do well in this difficult match."

Sven once again repeated The FA's pleas for fans not to travel to the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium for the game.

He said: "As for the fans, we can't accept anything bad happening. If they behave badly again, we will probably be thrown out of the championships."
