Lars Filopo a highly regarded Swedish coach has accepted Eriksson's invitation to join his back-room staff.

Filopo, a naturalised Swede, began his playing career in his native Portugal but has spent most of his coaching life in Scandinavia.

Sven initially met Filopo while he was manager of Gothenburg and has made several attempts to recruit him in the past but it is only now that the timing has been convenient and Sven has finally got his man.
