History of the European Championships
The European Championships have a long and illustrious history. From humble beginnings in 1960 to the glamour and success of Euro 2000, the Finals are now the third biggest sporting event in the world.
England's record in the Championships has never been that good, but twice the Three lions have reached the semi finals and qualification for Euro 2000 was England's fourth consecutive participation in the tournament.
