Japan's love affair with David Beckham has reached a new level, as a chocolate statue of the England captain is unveiled in Tokyo...During the World Cup Beckham captured the imagination and the hearts of the Japanese to such an extent that the new craze is for a Beckhamo, or a haircut styled on that of the England captain. Now, not only will Japanese fans be able to look like Beckham, but their taste buds will be drooling as well at the thought of the new ten-foot tall chocolate replica.

The creation is a publicity stunt by chocolate manufacturers Meiji Seika, who will show the Manchester United player eating their products.

The statue, which is on show until Christmas, is protected in a glass case and by two security guards at all time, as thousands of interested onlookers on the busy intersection will want to take a bite out of the star...
