Semi-Final

Helsingborg, Sweden England's opponents in the final of Euro 2009 will be Germany after they beat Italy 1-0 in a nervy Semi Final on Friday night.
This match had a lot to live up to. Earlier, England gloriously banished their penalty shootout demons and booked their place in the Final following an epic victory over Sweden.
The Swedes looked dead and buried at 3-0 down but they somehow managed to level the match at 3-3 before Stuart Pearce's brave Lions won 5-4 on penalties.
So it was down to the two other Semi Finalists to slug it out and it was a nervous, tight affair. Italy had the better of the first half with Mario Balotelli shooting narrowly over.
With chances at a premium, Germany made the crucial breakthrough just after half-time.
Right-back Andreas Beck stepped up in the 48th minute and his powerful right foot drive nestled into the back of the net to the delight of the German faithful.
Despite a spirited fight back, the Italians could not break a resolute German defence that held on to their slender lead.
Stuart Pearce has suffered heartbreak against Germany before - but after masterminding England's march to the Final, he will get a chance to lay the ghosts of 1990 and 1996 to rest when the two old enemies clash in Malmo this Monday.
