Victor Moses is hoping England will qualify for the U19 European Championships on Saturday.
Crystal Palace’s season may have ended in playoff heartbreak but Victor Moses is hoping to finish off the campaign by helping England qualify for the U19 European Championships at the weekend.
England U19s only need to avoid defeat against Belarus in Minsk on Saturday afternoon to clinch one of the eight places up for grabs at Czech Republic 2008 which takes place in July.
The likes of Germany, Spain and Bulgaria have already qualified for the tournament and Moses is certain that England can make it as well after beating Poland and Serbia in the qualifying group stage.
“We beat Poland 2-0 and Serbia 1-0 so we can go into the game on Saturday with confidence,” said Moses from England’s base in Belarus.
“The locals are telling us that there will be a decent crowd in the stadium on Saturday and they’re looking at 12,000 plus which should be good. We’re looking forward to the atmosphere.
“We haven’t conceded a goal yet though and all the boys are ready for the big game,” commented Moses who was in the starting XI for the Poland game.
Moses already has on eye on the future having watched England beat the USA 2-0 on Wednesday: “We all want to do our best for England U19s but to play at Wembley for Mr Capello is the ultimate dream for everyone who’s on this trip in Belarus,” said Moses who is joined in the squad by former Palace loanee, Scott Sinclair.
Palace’s season may have just finished but the youngster is already looking forward to next season and playing for Neil Warnock: “The manager showed great confidence in me last season so hopefully I can build on that for next season.
“We managed to make the playoffs this year which shocked a few people so there’s no reason why we can’t push on and aim for automatic promotion.”
