John Peacock has named his squad for the UEFA European U17 Championship which gets underway at the beginning of May.

England have been drawn in Group B and will face Holland, Germany and Turkey, with all four teams vying for a place in the Semi-Final against either France, Italy, Spain or Switzerland. The Final will take place at the 25,000-capacity Stadion Magdeburg on 18 May.

The majority of Peacock's squad has been drawn from the group of players which successfully negotiated the Elite Round of Qualifying in March, with a few players being called up from Kenny Swain's U16 squad, including Sam Johnstone, Luke Garbutt and Benik Afobe.

England begin their Group B campaign against the Dutch on 6 May and the next match against Germany will be broadcast live on Eurosport on 9 May. England conclude their group matches against Turkey three days later.

The top three teams in each group will also qualify for the FIFA U17 World Cup in Nigeria later this year.

"It was difficult getting the squad down to 18 players as we saw plenty of strong performances at the qualifying stages in Hungary," admitted Peacock.

"We've given some of the U16 lads an opportunity which means we've had to leave some experienced players at home for the European Championships but I'm confident that we're taking a very competitive squad to the tournament."
