England began their Nordic Tournament campaign on Tuesday with a 1-1 draw against Denmark at the Moan Stadium in Trondheim.

Coach Kenny Swain, who is in charge of the side featuring many of the players from last season's U16s featuring in the Victory Shield and Montaigu Tournament, watched on as the Young Lions came from a goal behind courtesy of a second half strike from Arsenal's Josh Rees.

There was not much between the two sides in the early stages in Norway, but a disappointing goal from England's point of view arrived four minutes before the break as Niels Bisp Rasmussen found himself in space inside the area to head home past Newcastle United 'keeper Jak Alnwick.

However, early in the second half England responded as Rees levelled, and from then on it was all England who could have snatched all three points, but must make do with just the one.

They line up for their second game of the tournament on Monday night at the Tydal Stadium.
