The England Partially Sighted Team celebrate winning the recent Tri-Nations trophy.
Monday, 22 November 2004.
With the 2004 Partially Sighted World Championship now under three weeks away, Manager Graham Keeley has confirmed his ten-man squad who will open the tournament at Sport City, Manchester on Saturday 11th December.
At 18 years old, Goalkeeper George Barrie is the youngest member of the squad, whilst at 45, Sheffield-based Wayne Perry is the older statesmen.
After a morale-boosting tri-nations warm-up at the end of October, the squad are gaining in confidence, with already over a third of the 3,000 capacity velodrome tickets sold out for the opening night.
Upon receiving confirmation of his inclusion in the squad, Perry told TheFA.com:
"We'd all been training hard but I didn't want to take anything for granted. To finally get the nod from Graham was absolutely fantastic, and now I just can't wait for the tournament to start!"
TheFA.com will be bringing you a feature on each of the squad over the next fortnight, as we cast the spotlight on the men who hope to win the Championships, and who will be in action in Manchester.
Tickets for the Championships are free, but need to be booked in advance on
