Chambers inspires England

Micky Chambers was England's hero as he scored twice to beat Liberia - a result that leaves the Three Lions on the verge of the Quarter Finals.

In a game they totally dominated - as 32 shots, 19 on target, would suggest - England were constantly frustrated by an inspired Liberian keeper who made save after save.

England keeper Carl Richardson was busy too, making a fine stop in the first minute to thwart an early Liberian attack.

England responded with a chance of their own, Garreth Durrant lashing against the post as the Three Lions dominated.

But it was the African side who took the lead on 18 minutes when a ball over the top caught England out leaving Richardson the task of picking the ball out of the net.

England struck back just before half-time when Chambers (pictured) drilled home over the diving Liberian keeper.

Chambers and his team-mates continued to rain shots down on the Liberian goal only to be repelled by the excellent glovesman.

England were handed a boost when a Liberian player was sent off and the European outfit siezed the chance, Chambers side footing low to the keeper's left to seal the win.

England next game is against France on Friday.
