A left-sided defender who has already collected a wealth of international experience since being first involved with England as a 14-year-old back in 2007, when he made his debut as a substitute in the Victory Shield game with Northern Ireland at Blackpool.
The Yorkshireman started his career with Leeds United, before making the move to Everton and after five caps for the England U16 team, he went on to appear 24 times for the U17s, playing in the European U17 Championship Finals in Germany in 2009 whilst still a year young before competing in the same tournament 12 months later when he was a key part of the team which became European Champions in the summer of 2010.
