A former England U19 captain, Sophie made her senior team debut in the 4-0 win over Austria in August 2010.
The young and talented defender has since put in a number of impressive performances at the heart of the England back line, most notably against Sweden and eventual World Cup champions Japan, the game in which she made her first World Cup start. She had made her World Cup Finals debut two games earlier when she replaced Faye White with seven minutes remaining of the 1-1 draw with Mexico.
Now with Lincoln Ladies, Sophie captained her former club Leeds Carnegie to FA Women’s Premier League Cup glory in February 2010.
