Oxford United came out winners in a 2-0 FA Youth Cup clash against the highly-rated academy of Dulwich Hamlet FC.
The loss comes as a shock to Dulwich supporters as the club's youth ranks have gained widespread recognition, producing top quality young players fit for a place in the highest level of English football. Latest prospects include 18-year-old Michael Chambers, who is reportedly attracting the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham and Wolves defender George Elokobi.
However, Oxford were not fazed by Dulwich's status as Tyrone Marsh and Jermaine Udumaga fired two into the home side's net to send United into the Third Round of the competition.
Marsh, finding good form for the U's, put the visitors into the lead after just five minutes. Dulwich 'keeper James Tedder did well to stop an initial Cole Hinchcliffe strike but failed to stop Marsh from grabbing his fourth goal in two Cup games.
Dulwich enjoyed several well-worked moves on the Oxford goal but failed to take advantage of a string of hopeful attacks and went into the second half a goal down.
The second half featured Dulwich battling back to create two quick-fire chances with the latter beating Us keeper, Dan Lincoln, but not his left upright.
A spell of bad fortune included Hamlet 'keeper Tedder being carried off on a stretcher with a knee injury ten minutes from time.
Udumanga then took his chance to test the stand-in goalkeeper firing a strike beyond him, confirming a place in the Third Round with seconds to go.
Oxford United now face the challenge of playing host to the Premier League's Bolton Wanderers on a date yet to be confirmed.
