The Fulham Youth Team manager, Gary Brazil, insists his young men can make history by defeating Aston Villa in the Sixth Round of The FA Youth Cup sponsored by E.ON.

Newcastle United await the winners of tonight's tie at Craven Cottage and Brazil is adamant that despite his side's inexperience they can triumph over the Villains.

"The reality is we are in the quarter-finals for the first time in a long time and we are making big strides," said the former Fulham and Preston North End forward.

"This is a very young under 18 side that has done extremely well and we would love to get to The Final. This is a big learning curve for them. The team's strength is going to be important. We will need to work as a unit.

"We have six first-year boys and a lot of them are under 17 but we are very well organised."

And Brazil is well aware that Villa's dangerman is striker Arsenio Halfhuid, who scored a hat-trick for the three-time champions in the previous round against Millwall.

But Brazil, who also played for Newcastle during his career, insists that, rather in the mould of Roy Hodgson's senior side, preparation and organisation can win the day.

"The key for us is good preparation, good planning and that the boys know what they've got to do," he added. "One or two individuals have the capability to win us games.

"The boys have been treated like the first team thanks to the staff who have arranged them accommodation and that has helped our preparations before games."
