Mitch McPike and Jack Rutter each scored long-range efforts to put Birmingham City into the Quarter Finals of The FA Youth Cup following a 2-0 win over Cardiff City.
McPike put Birmingham deservedly ahead at the break in Wales with a powerful 35-yard shot.
But Cardiff responded strongly at the start of the second half and went close to an equaliser through Rhys Kelleher and Aaron Wildig - only for Blues goalkeeper Dean Lyness to pull off two great saves.
And Birmingham sealed the victory five minutes from time when Rutter's free-kick went through a crowd of players in the box and past Cardiff 'keeper Jordan Santiago.
There was still time for Lee Smith to hit the crossbar for the home side, but Birmingham held on to secure a home tie against either Ipswich Town or Watford in the Sixth Round.
