Chelsea v Leeds Carnegie Ladies
The FA Tesco Women's Premier League Cup
Second Round
2pm, Sunday 5 October 2008
Metropolitan Police Ground, Imber Court
Leeds Carnegie Ladies are back in action this week after their break for England internationals when they travel south to face Chelsea Ladies in the Second Round of The FA Women's Premier League Cup.
Leeds reached The Final of this competition two seasons ago, beat Chelsea on the way to their FA Cup Final appearance against Arsenal last season, and are hoping that their traditionally good cup form will continue.
"Things had started to fall into place for us," said Leeds manager Rick Passmoor. "In our last two games we've had a good win away against our nearest neighbours, Doncaster Rovers Belles and a draw against Bristol Academy.
"The short pre-season we had really showed in the early games, but we have the quality and confidence to do better, and the week off from competition should enable us to show that.
"It's always difficult re-starting after a break for internationals," he concluded. "Coincidentally, Chelsea were due to face Arsenal last weekend while we would have played Everton, and we were the four clubs providing the bulk of the England Senior squad which has just qualified for the European Championships in Finland next summer."
