Norwich Ladies co-manager Emma Fletcher admits that the big freeze has wreaked havoc on her side's fixture list since Christmas, but insists that it won't affect their chances in The FA Women's Cup Fourth Round tie against Yeovil.
The Canaries have played only once since the turn of the year - their rearranged Third Round tie against MK Dons - because of constant frozen-pitch postponements. However, with a nationwide thaw finally setting in, Norwich Ladies and Yeovil LFC hope to clash on Sunday almost two months after the tie was first drawn.
Fletcher concedes that keeping her players motivated with no competitive matches on the horizon has been testing, but the opportunity to progress in such a prestigious tournament will ensure there is no chance of complacency among her charges.
"The FA Cup is a fantastic opportunity to test ourselves against teams from higher divisions," she said. "But when you're not playing because of postponements it's hard to keep momentum.
"The weather has been a big problem and every game in The Cup has been delayed - this is the second attempt at this fixture alone and we're falling way behind.
"Our win against MK Dons in the Third Round was the only time we've kicked a ball since the turn of the year. I can't even remember what a league game feels like.
"Our aim this season was to finish in the top half and reach the latter stages of the cups, we're doing well on those fronts but it is hard when the weather is so disruptive.
"I've never seen postponements this bad - it's certainly the worst I can remember and it has hit us hard. But it won't affect us on the pitch."
Of Sunday's opponents, the co-manager said: "Yeovil are a good side and they're doing well in the league.
"They have been banging the goals in and it will be a big test for our defence which has performed well so far this season. It looks fairly even to me."
