Last weekend was all about the magic of The FA Cup and that will once again be the case on Sunday.

But this time it's the women's turn, with six Women's FA Cup First Round Proper ties being played including a third appearance in the competition for Rochdale AFC Ladies.

They travel to Hull City LFC in fine form and sit at the summit of the Northern Women's Combination League.

They have shown remarkable progress since forming in 2001, and club secretary Jane Pearson says The FA Women's Cup has the same magic for those involved as the men's version.

"The girls really enjoy the competition and it is special for the players," she said. "We started right at the bottom of the pyramid and our aim is to eventually get into the Women's Premier League so you could say we're chasing the dream on a number of fronts.

"It's our third year in The Cup and it was really special when we first entered but we've always been drawn away. We've never had a home draw in The FA Cup so that would be a nice moment."

To have any chance of a home tie this season, they will need to win at least two games because the winners of Sunday's clash will face a visit to Whitley Bay Women or Blackpool Wren Rovers LFC.

The club are also hoping there is no need to use their green away kit, which has gone missing and is being desperately hunted.

"We just can't find the green kit anywhere," said a bemused Pearson. "It's not like someone would take it, so it's just a mystery where it's gone."
