Fisher booked their place in the Second Qaulifying Round of The FA Vase with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Ringwood Town thanks to an extra-time goal from Robert Hughes.
The sides could not be separated after 90 minutes, a 1-1 draw forcing the game into extra-time at the start of the long road to Wembley.
Fisher took an early lead at Champion Hill through Adrian Ma but Mick Hores levelled for Ringwood with a second-half penalty. The occasion needed some FA Vase magic, and with penalties looming in the second-half of extra-time, Hughes popped up to settle the tie.
The defender made front-page headlines two years ago as the victim of a horrific attack on holiday in Crete that left the youngster fighting for his life.
But it will be the local sports pages that carry the player's name this week after he booked his side a Second Qualifying Round trip to Wessex Football League rivals Norton Sports.
Fisher manager Gary Lisney said: "Robert Hughes won it for us and it's a great story because he was beaten up very badly on holiday a few years ago and it really didn't look good for him.
"He has recovered now but plays in a head-guard and to be honest he could probably play a few levels higher. It's really nice to see him come back and enjoy his football.
"I thought we were poor and I've said that to the players but I have a feeling that the players were under a lot of pressure.
"The financial implications of a cup run are massive to a club like us, we are run on a shoe string so the rewards are very significant for us and I think, despite me trying to put them at ease, they were away of that."
Ringwood manager Wayne Lockey was not so much disappointed by the result but the manner in which his team surrendered their place in the competition.
Locked said: "I think the travelling had a serious effect on us, to be honest we were very poor in the first half hour for our standards, and we did not live up to our own expectations. We were disappointed and I had a sense that we limped out of it."
Elsewere, Biddulph Victoria beat Stafford Town 2-1 and Irchester United suffered a 3-0 loss against visiting Ipswich Wanderers.
Barkingside's 2-2 draw with Buckingham Athletic means thay will play again this evening.
