Chalfont St Peter took Needham Market to extra-time but a goal from either side sets up a replay for a last four berth.

Neither of the closely-matched sides could find the net in 90 minutes of football but both scored in extra-time to force a replay at Mill Meadow next Saturday.

The crowd of 579, Needham’s biggest of the season, feared the worst when Terrell Lewis gave Chalfont the lead after four minutes of the additional 30.

But just six minutes later Tommy Smith levelled the scores to force a replay.

Needham Market club secretary Mark Easlea said: “It was a close game - we just about edged the chances but it was a fair result on the day.

“We look forward to doing it all again next Saturday. It’s another hurdle for us to jump but hopefully we’ll pull through.”

“It was great to see such a large crowd cheer us on.”
