Former Chelsea legend Kevin Wilson will be using scare tactics to prevent his Ilkeston side slipping up against Mossley in the Third Qualifying Round this Saturday.
The Robins manager played up-front for an old Second Division Blues side that crumbled in the final 15 minutes against Scarborough in the 1989 League Cup Second Round. Then of the old Fourth Division, Scarborough pushed home three late goals after Chelsea initially lead 2-0.
The former Northern Ireland International confirms he will hammer in the necessary mental strengths to make sure a giant-killing act doesn't happen to him again.
"You have to think about them like any side in your own league," he said.
"A lot of our players, in that game against Scarborough, took their foot off the gas and stopped concentrating.
"It's about mental application and I won't let my players make the same mistake."
Wilson's Ilkeston team is also blessed with the experience of another former player at top-flight level in Darren Caskey.
Now a player-coach for the Derbyshire-based club, Caskey was part of a trio of notable youth graduates from Tottenham Hotspur's academy in the early 1990s, along with Sol Campbell and Nick Barmby.
Having made 29 appearances for Spurs, the midfielder never delivered the same promised potential and now, at 35-years-old, he is earning his coaching stars at semi-professional level.
"Darren is doing very well as a coach here," Wilson added.
"He works very hard and provides a wealth of experience for the players, having played at both the top level, and in non-League football.
"We both try to pass on the right advice."
Ilkeston are locked on to their promotion target, sitting just three-points out of the Play-off places and have lost only three times all season in the Conference North.
Like Caskey's boyhood club, Mossley are nicknamed the Lilywhites and will look to steal the spirit of their namesakes to get one over the former Spurs boy.
Some mundane league form leaves them in 15th place in the Northern Premier League First Division North, with only four wins from 15 games. They beat Spalding United and Brackley Town to get this far.
