Hinckley and Luton will have to face off again after a goalless draw in The FA Carlsberg Trophy at the Greene King Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The teams will play one another on Monday at Kenilworth Road, with the winners earning an away tie against Kidderminster Harriers in the Third Round.
Despite the scoreline, the game was not devoid of chances, with both goalkeepers putting in accomplished performances.
Luton - who sit third in the Conference National league - had the better of the opening quarter, with John Paul Kissock forcing an acrobatic save from keeper Denham Hinds in the eighth minute.
Jake Woolley and Stuart Fleetwood were also denied by Hinds as Hinckley were pegged back early on.
The Conference North side absorbed the pressure and sought to counter. Midway through the first half, it was the Luton keeper's turn to rescue his team. Striker Andre Gray sprung clear of Luton's back line, only to see his toe poke saved by Mark Tyler.
Hinckley grew into the game, and Gray had a goal chalked off before half time for being in an offside position.
The striker posed problems for Luton's back four throughout the second half, but did not do enough to beat Tyler.
As the game drew to a close, both teams went in search of a winner. The home side had another goal disallowed in the 83rd minute, and Fleetwood forced another magnificent save from Hinds in the dying moments.
Neither team could break the deadlock, but will have another chance in Monday's replay in Luton.
