Alfreton Town recorded the result of the day in The FA Carlsberg Trophy Second Round with a 6-0 win away at Weymouth.
The visitors built up a commanding 5-0 half-time lead with a brace of goals each from Nathan Jarman and Nathan Arnold and one from debutant Louis Moult. The rout was completed in the second half when substitute Paul Clayton finished with his thigh from close range on 77 minutes.
A solitary first-half goal from Sean Canham was enough to give Bath City a 1-0 win over Basingstoke in their tense encounter.
Ian Kearney proved indeed to be captain fantastic when he scored the injury winner for Northwich Victoria in their 1-0 triumph over visiting Staines Town.
Lincoln City and Carshalton fought out a 0-0 draw that demands they must contest a reply for a place in the Third Round.
Two injury time goals in the game between Gateshead and Braintree still could not settle the tie. The home side took the lead before Braintree levelled through Jai Reason after 42 minutes.
With seconds remaining Gateshead looked to have snatched the win with a lake striker but Kenny Davis stunned the crowd the another Braintree goal to end the tie 2-2.
