Magnet Tavern are through to the Sixth Round after a hard-fought victory against Lebeq Tavern Courage.

A brace from ex-Aston Villa striker Julian Joachim and a goal from Miles Hunter ensured they scored an away win to progress to the Semi-Final despite Shane Hobbs managing to pull one back for the hosts in injury time.

John Chand's side travelled to Bristol expecting a physical battle and the home team duly obliged. However, the game turned ugly in the second half, resulting in a sending off for Lebeq.

After dominating the opening exchanges, Tavern forced a string of fine saves from Lebeq goalkeeper Amin Jones but it remained goalless until the 22nd minute when Paul Goodhand played a fine through ball to Joachim, who managed to neatly finish past Jones on the edge of the box.

Lebeq found themselves two down seven minutes later. Joachim, who played in The FA Cup Final for Villa in 2000, scored his second with a left-footed shot after finding space in the area from a free-kick.

The hosts tried to create chances after the break, but Magnet's centre-back and captain, Ben Brown, managed to stifle any Lebeq attack.

The tie was effectively over in the 62nd minute as Hunter latched onto a through pass and dispatched coolly past Jones. That goal was the 20-year-old's 36th in 24 games.

Lebeq were reduced to ten men 10 minutes before the final whistle. Jarrod Bright's two-footed lunge warranted a straight red, in what summed up a frustrating afternoon for the home side.

Hobbs then provided something for the Lebeq supporters to cheer about after grabbing a consolation goal in stoppage time. His 20-yard free-kick was curled expertly around the Magnet wall. But it was too little too late as the referee blew the full-time whistle immediately after.

Elsewhere, a few of Birstall Stamford's squad had to endure a five-hour journey thanks to a flurry of snow in Leicester.

Despite the conditions and a long trip up to the north-east, Stamford managed a 1-0 win against Shankhouse United.

The visitors played some attractive football from the outset and hit the bar in the first half. Stamford's striker Ronnie White caused problems all afternoon and was unlucky not to put his side in front.

White gave his team an opportunity to take the lead in the second half. After a jinking run into the opposing box, he was tripped and the referee rightly awarded a penalty. Up stepped Steve White, who managed to give the corner flag more of a test than the Shankhouse keeper.

Tom Cooper spared his team-mate's blushes in the 65th minute by scoring the only goal of the game. After a corner was whipped into the Shankhouse box, panic ensued, the hosts were unable to clear the ball and the centre-back found space and poked the ball into the net.

The final two games of the round, Hazelhurst against Sungate and Hetton Lyons versus Salisbury Athletic are to be played this Sunday.

The Semi-Final draw has also been made today at Wembley and is as follows:-

1 Birstall Stamford v Magnet Tavern

2 Hazelhurst or Sungate v Hetton Lyons or Salisbury Athletic
