A long unbeaten run is to be commended, but it is extremely rare that a side reaches this stage of the season without losing or even drawing a game, but Hetton Lyons have yet to chalk up any other result than a win.
The Durham District Sunday League side have been victorious in every game so far in their division and are still in contention to win all of their cups.
Their assistant manager Stuart Gooden believes that this is the result of being sound in defence rather than being prolific in the attacking department.
"It's a tribute to the team rather than a certain individual," said Gooden. "We have built a solid back line over the years and defensively we are very strong.
"Certainly the amount of players we have helps. You always hate Saturday evenings when you have to wait on the phone calls from players about the injuries they have picked up earlier in the day. But we have been lucky with the big squad we have."
The Lyons have a rich history in the tournament. They previously won the cup in 2005 and 2008 and were knocked out last season by the eventual winners Scots Grey but Gooden insists that winning The Cup is their main concern for the season.
"This Cup is our priority. We have always taken the tournament seriously and we want to make history, no side has won the competition three times and we feel we can achieve that."
Despite their excellent form this season, Gooden feels that his team are capable of performing better.
"I believe we've not reached our peak yet," he added. "We haven't been firing on all cylinders and we are looking to be playing a little better."
Gooden is also wary of their opponents on Sunday. Salisbury Athletic were triumphant in the last round against Langley Celtic.
"Any team we get will be useful. But we need to focus on us and what we can do."
