The FA Carlsberg Sunday Cup
Second Round
Sunday 16 October 2008
Winning clubs will receive £250 from The FA

Fforde Grene Brazil secured a place in the Third Round of The FA Sunday Cup with a 6-3 victory away from home at Tower FC after extra-time.

Dominique Blair proved to be the difference between the two sides, grabbing four goals to send his side through.

The match was tied at three-all after 90 minutes and club secretary Thomas Matthews said: "It was a great game but we could have won it in normal time.

"Every time we scored they seemed to get one back."

Elsewhere, St Margarets also scored six; winning 6-2 at Wisbech St Mary. The losing finalists from the 2006-07 competition, Lebeq Tavern Courage romped to a 6-1 win against Rapid Moorfields, with James Billings scoring two late goals to complete his hat-trick.

Last season's Finalists and winners of the 2006-07 competition, Coundon Conservative beat Murton Victoria 2-0, as they bid to make a third consecutive Final. Brantham Athletic beat St Joseph's 2-1 to end their hopes of adding to a record five appearances in Sunday Cup Finals.

Club Lewsey eased past Heyford United with a hat-trick from Leon Cashman contributing to a 4-0 victory. Magnet Tavern beat Travellers FC with Matt Kennedy and Mark Lovelace both grabbing two goals each.

A number of ties required penalties to decide the outcome.  Scots Grey held their nerve to win 4-3 on penalties after their game against Birstall Stamford had ended in a 3-3 draw.  Queens Park also needed penalties to dispatch Paddock after the game had ended in a 2-2 draw.

In other matches, Lakeside Athletic beat Knighton Arms 3-2 at Hamble Club while Hanham Sunday secured their safe passage through by the same scoreline against Ashton.
